September 25, 2013 – War Tribe Gear sponsored athlete Carlos Diego Ferreira did it again!

After three grueling matches at the CSU Walter Reed Pyramid in Long Beach, CA last Sunday, September 22nd, he came out as the winner in the 167-180 lbs. division of the Abu Dhabi World Pro Trials west coast edition.

Winning over a field that included fellow world class BJJ black belts Tanner Rice, Magid Hage, and Romulo Melo, the Texas-based Carlos Diego Ferreira will now head to Abu Dhabi, UAE to compete in the prestigious 2014 Abu Dhabi World Pro Championship this coming year, against a field that will no doubt include the best in the world.

“My most challenging bout was my final match,” said Carlos Diego Ferreira about the competition at West Coast Trials. “This guy (Magid Hage) is an upcoming fighter who’s been doing very well and been submitting a lot of guys, so I already knew what I was up against. He constantly tried submitting me but I was able to defend myself very well. But it was a great match and awesome experience. I’m just super excited to have qualified and have the opportunity to go (to the 2014 Abu Dhabi World Pro). I know I’m going to be up against the best in the world, but I’m going to work my hardest to prepare for it and it is definitely going to be one of the biggest challenges I will face in my career but I’m ready to face it… And all in all, the most important part will be the experience and growing in this sport that I love.”

With no rest for the weary, Carlos Diego Ferreira has moved on after the Abu Dhabi World Pro Trials directly into the next phase of his training, this time focusing on MMA and his nationally-televised bout at Legacy Figthting Championship 24 against fellow top undefeated prospect Chris Feist out of Dallas, TX. The bout will take place on October 11th at the Allen Events Center and will be broadcast LIVE on AXS TV.

“I’m excited and ready to get back into the cage. I’ve been focusing a lot on BJJ (lately) but I want to get back and keep training hard for this fight also. I come into every fight trying to be the best I can be, for MMA and BJJ. This is my life and I just want to be satisfied with every fight knowing that I did all I could. I got a full plate up ahead and couldn’t be more excited. Let’s go!”
