$100K IN PRIZES UP FOR GRABS AT THE ABU DHABI GRAND SLAM LA
Abu Dhabi Grand Slam kicks off on 3rd & 4th September 2016 at L.A Convention Center, Los Angeles, USA, with over $100,000 in cash prize to be won for the athletes.
In it’s second year, the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam has already laid the foundations and earned the respect from the peers, as the most prestigious Jiu-Jitsu championship series in the world. The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation has injected a new lease of life into the sport of Jiu-Jitsu and it’s development into commercializing and making it an Olympic sport.
His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces has showed incredible support for the development of the sport of Jiu-Jitsu in the UAE, regionally and most importantly globally with the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam.

This is a highly competitive sport and we attract the best of the best Jiu-Jitsu players from across the globe.” Said H.E Abdulmunam Al Hashemi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation
Medals will be awarded for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each division. Prize money awarded will range from $500 to $2,000 in several categories, including juvenile, adult and masters, from blue, purple, brown and black categories for both men and women.
The first-place winner in the respective weight categories of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam will receive 200 points. The second-place winner will receive 160 points and the third-place winner will receive 120 points.
Top confirmed competitors to take part in Los Angeles on 3rd and 4th September will include black belt champions Erberth Santos, Ricardo Evangelista, Tiago Bravo, Andre Campos, Paulo Miyao, Faisal Alketbi, Igor Silva, the world champion Mackenzie Dern and Marcio Andre.

I competed at the Abu Dhabi World Pro Championship in Abu Dhabi in April and it was one of my best experiences as an athlete.
