As a five-time black belt world champion, Rafael Mendes has firmly secured his place in the history books of jiu jitsu, with many citing him as the greatest featherweight of all time. Despite his absence from the ADCC in Sao Paulo, 2015 has been a dominant year that saw Mendes decimate all-comers at the Mundials. Even the great Rubens Charles “Cobrinha” couldn’t mount any sort of threat to an inevitable fifth title for Mendes.
