DALLAS, TX, August 21, 2013 – There was some exciting professional MMA action in Downtown Dallas, TX last weekend as Xtreme Knockout held their latest event, XKO 19, as part of the 2013 Europa Games Sports and Get Fit Expo at the Dallas Convention Center.

The event featured eight exciting bouts of MMA action with War Tribe Gear sponsored Steven Peterson of Octagon MMA headlining the event with his XKO bantamweight title defense against fellow DFW resident Nelson Salas.

Putting on a performance worthy of note and certainly exemplifying the War Tribe Gear lifestyle of hard work, dedication, and determination in MMA, Steven Peterson won via fourth round TKO, successfully defending his championship belt and also becoming the first fighter to ever finish his very game opponent in Salas. From the opening bell Steven was determined to be the aggressor in this one and took it to his opponent, attacking on the feet with much improved boxing and striking discipline but also showing his moxy on the ground by scoring some timely takedowns and coming close with a few submissions after taking his opponent’s back. All of it concluded in the fourth when he was able to flatten out his opponent and attack with strikes to force the referee stoppage.

After the bout, Steven Peterson made sure to thank all his sponsors, including War Tribe Gear (thanks for the shout out Steven) and also his coaches at Octagon MMA and Gracie Gym. Steven also made sure to mention his wife Amanda and son Keison (Happy birthday little dude!) who he credited as his primary inspiration to keep working hard to succeed in Mixed Martial Arts.

As for the rest of the event, there were a lot of noteworthy prospects who did equally well! Perhaps most impressive were a pair of fighters from Chop Shop MMA in Stephen Banaszak and Chris Gutierrez. Both of those guys did well with emphatic finishes in their bouts while other prospects like Geoffrey Neal and area police officer Jacob Brannan did similarly well in their bouts.
