The topic of conversation for this edition of the War Tribe Media blog is once again one of flagship sponsored athletes in MMA / BJJ extraordinaire Carlos Diego Ferreira. This time the scene was Legacy Fighting Championship 24, a professional MMA event that took place at the Allen Event Center in Allen, TX on Friday, October 11, 2013.
A sponsored athlete for War Tribe Gear, Carlos Diego Ferreira took part in the main event of the evening which was aired LIVE nationally on the AXS TV network. He would take on fellow undefeated fighter Chris Feist, a Team Takedown teammate and training partner for current UFC #1 ranked welterweight contender Johny Hendricks.
With Legacy Fighting Championship 24 proving to be his toughest test yet, Carlos Diego Ferreira passed with flying colors – extending his unbeaten streak to an impressive eight fights in a row to start his pro career. With this win, Carlos Diego Ferreira also moved to #1 contender status, himself – joining another War Tribe Gear sponsored athlete in #1 145 lbs. contender Kevin Aguilar for a future shot at a Legacy FC belt.
Carlos Diego Ferreira gets his turn for the Legacy FC lightweight championship when he faces incumbent champion and MMA legend Jorge Macaco Patino this November 15th in Houston at Legacy FC 25 while Aguilar gets his turn when he faces UFC vet Leonard Garcia at Legacy FC 26 on December 6th of this year.
Win or lose these athletes have made us proud and we’re happy as a brand to support their journey within the sport of professional mixed martial arts. Both guys are the type of hard-working athletes that exemplify our character as a brand and our mission of support to those committed to giving 110% to their chosen endeavors while doing it the right way – through diligence and hard work while being strong supporters of others in the community.
The fact that we could end the year with two more champions on the War Tribe roster is more like icing on the cake but definitely very cool too, so make sure to keep an eye on these guys!
