BUCHECHA JOINS THE SHOYOROLL TEAM

The most decorated absolute black belt champion ever, Marcus ‘Buchecha’ Almeida, has officially joined the Shoyoroll team. Buchecha joins a growing list of high profile athletes under the SYR banner, including the Miyao and Mendes Bros, Jackson Sousa, Gezary Matuda and women’s absolute black belt champion, Dominkya Obelenyte.

“I remember there was a brown belt smashing everyone at the world championships, so we wondered who this kid was,” says Shoyoroll founder, Vince Quitugua. “In the past few years I’ve been able to hang out with Buchecha a little more and get to know him as a person, seeing what he values and how he lives his life.

“Regardless of sponsorship I’d always cheer for Buchecha at competitions like a fanboy. The fact that Buchecha is a mega star in jiu jitsu, with roots, humble beginnings and a good-hearted approach on life is what makes him special. He’s also a guy that’s willing to give up good positions to go for the finish. I want to say thank you Buchecha for giving us fanboys someone to cheer over the years, and welcome to the team brotha!”
