BREAKING NEWS: BUCHECHA WITHDRAWS FROM WORLD PRO ABSOLUTE

Reigning Abu Dhabi World Pro Black Belt Absolute Champion, Marcus ‘Buchecha’ Almeida, has pulled-out of the 2016 absolute division at the eleventh hour.


Having arrived at the venue ready to compete, it seems Buchecha may have decided to withdraw following advice from his coach and teammates. “I came to the venue to fight, but after talking to Leo (Vieira) we think it may be a bad idea to push it too hard,” explains Marcus. “I need to listen to the people around me, as Leo has had to have surgery from trying to compete too much."


Buchecha injured his knee at the 2015 IBJJF World Championships and is still believed to be working on recovering to full fitness.
