THE FOOTLOCK MASTER

Dean Lister, the MMA veteran and footlock master, is often described as a renegade of the gentle art. For traditional folk, the sight of this multiple Abu Dhabi Champion attempting to wrench off adversaries’ feet is a little unsavoury. For the rest of us, it’s just plain awesome.

No-one has embraced the leglock game into his jiu jitsu arsenal with such open arms as Lister, whose diverse approach to progression and development has elevated his status to one of the best nogi grapplers on the planet.



We caught up with ‘The Boogeyman” to discuss his love of leglocks, facing Buchecha and Keenan Cornelius at the ADCC, as well as the role of the kimono in modern day jiu jitsu.
