War Tribe Athletes Take Top Billing at Legacy FC 61

By August 15, 2016December 16th, 2016MMA

October 14th will be a very big day for mixed martial arts fans with Legacy Fighting Championship returning to Dallas, TX for some high level MMA action. Even more exciting is that three members of the TRIBE will take center stage on this card, all in some very big fights!

First up is none other than BJJ world champion, Mackenzie Dern (1-0) making her return to the cage for the second time. Mackenzie will look to stay undefeated against an opponent yet to be named. Dern won her MMA debut just last month over durable opponent, Kenia Rosas in a bout that saw Mackenzie put her opponent in some horrible positions and nasty submission attempts. To her credit, Rosas flat out refused to tap and was very flexible. Now we’ll see if her next opponent has the same attributes but look for Mackenzie, a 2x world champion and ADCC vet, to put whoever it is to the test!

Next on this recently announced card is Steven Peterson (14-2) back in the cage to defend his bantamweight title for the very first time against undefeated challenger, Mark Delarosa. “Ocho” has impressively won six in a row and submitted Manny Vasquez to win the belt at LFC 56. With that championship win being the highlight of his career so far, don’t expect Peterson to want to give up the belt so easily. On the contrary, he’ll be looking to hand the former Team Takedown trained prospect his first loss as he looks to rise even further in his own career.

Last but not least in the main event, “The Angel of Death” Kevin Aguilar (11-1) takes center stage as he defends his featherweight belt against UFC vet, Damon Jackson. The 27 year old out of Longview has won 3 in a row headed into this bout. He’ll look to make it four in a row against “The Leech,” an opponent who will no doubt be motivated after getting cut from the UFC off a draw and no contest in his last 2 fights. This one should definitely be a barn burner!
Legacy FC 61 airs LIVE from Dallas on AXS TV starting at 10pm EST on October 14th. Make sure to tune in and watch all our athletes fight their hearts out.
